Mindfulness is a bit of a buzz word lately, but we find it really warrants the attention.
What is mindfulness? One could describe it as maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment, through a gentle, nurturing lens. When we practice mindfulness, our thoughts tune into what we're sensing in the present moment rather than rehashing the past or imagining the future.
Of course, you can practice mindfulness at a yoga class, or during time set aside for meditation. It can also be with you when you wash your hands, when you interact with a person at the grocery store, when you go get your mail. In these regular occurrences, there’s an opportunity to stay connected with the present moment.
We’ve selected twelve words that help remind us of our mindfulness practice, and paired each one with a color. The pendants are hand formed and carefully glazed at our Seattle studio.
